Re: Repeat last command as sudo

i like to use a bash alias alias doch='sudo $(history -p !-1)' Like it, less keys to bash :D I found out that, it only lasts for the current session, I did some research online and found that if you add the alias to the bash config file in your home folder, it be available next time you log in. You...

Re: Raspberry Pi & Lego RIS

I have a Lego Mindstorms RIS 2.0 kit with the RCX, I found that it is possible to run the Lego software in a virtual machine running XP, But your way sounds more fun :D All things about the RCX have been reversed engineered including the IR tower protocols can be found online and I think Lego even r...

Repeat last command as sudo

I seem to forget to add 'sudo' to the start of a command, when required. I found the following command to be very helpful.

Code: Select all

sudo !!
The !! repeats the last command entered and sudo runs it as root.

Hope you find it as helpful as I do

Re: Help name my brother's new kittens (kitten picture inside!)

In our house at moment, we are being tolerated by 3 cats, who I'am sure look upon us as only being useful, when holding a can opener! They are Jill, Tom and Jerry. as for names for the little ones I would suggest Solder and Flux

<t>Yep, it"s a joke. I did think about using my Lego nxt to control it, thought the second cycle fitted the joke better. Realy looking forward to getting my hands on a R-Pi, not worried about the release date and feel that we are being well imformed about the build up to it. The R-Pi is cool, but th...
