Re: Forcing NumLock On

This is resolved, I ended up just making a .desktop entry in .config/autostart and all is good.

Forcing NumLock On

I need to require users to have NumLock on and, seeing this guide @: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=10081&f=26 decided to just make it run in a loop and then make this run at startup. I made a script with the contents #! /bin/bash while true do numlockx on sleep 5 done Running thi...

Re: Messed up my rc.local

Thank you so much! :) I've just used Linux Reader and now have my scripts safely on my Windows PC! :) A million smilies can't express my gratitude for your help, I'm off to re-image my Pi and this time I'll remember to backup... If my CS lecturers could see me know they'd probably disown me! :) Than...

Re: Messed up my rc.local

I've tried pinging it and the TCP isn't even up so no remote access, unless there's serial remote access I can get somehow? Ctrl + Alt + F2 doesn't do anything. I tried the jumper again (just in case!) and still get the rainbow screen. Is there anyway of me being able to mount the 6.5Gb partition to...

Re: Messed up my rc.local

Hi Richard,

Thanks for helping me with this.

I jumpered the pins (borrowed a jumper from my PiFace to avoid shorting!) and I just get the rainbow screen at startup with it not going any further.

Thanks again for your help,
Adam

Messed up my rc.local

I was trying to get a Python GUI app (using PyGame) to run at startup and put it in the rc.local. From reading (hindsight!), it should have gone in the .autostart so it was run in the GUI rather than rc.local and now my PI won't boot into the GUI. It goes through all the startup text and then sits t...

Re: simple 16 signal GPIO I2C board

<t>Hi Frank,<br/> <br/> I'd be interested in a few, I can see the Raspberry PI with this being better (and easier to work with, along with way more functions) than an Arduino with an ethernet shield!<br/> <br/> I've been meaning to hook up the office Coke machine to the Net so could do with a fair f...
