Re: NETFILTER_XT_MATCH_SOCKET module missing from kernel config

Hello, I found a solution to my problem. I was running this command: iptables -w -t mangle -A PREROUTING -p tcp -m socket --transparent -j SSLH And getting this error: iptables: No chain/target/match by that name The error is because the socket module is not loaded in Raspbian kernel. There were a f...

Re: NETFILTER_XT_MATCH_SOCKET module missing from kernel config

I have this problem as well.. I do this command... # lsmod | grep 'socket' ... but nothing is returned. I run this command: # modprobe nft_socket And get this error: modprobe: FATAL: Module nft_socket not found in directory /lib/modules/4.14.98-v7+ # lsb_release -a Description: Raspbian GNU/Linux 9....

Re: Random spikes with AM2302 Temperature & Humidity sensor

Hi Marco, I created an application with an am2302 DHT as well... also running since early March. Yes I get erroneous data readings too... 23 times in about 7 weeks. I poll the sensor from a Python script every 10mins. I assume it's because the sensor is cheap and so the chip in it is not very reliab...

Re: sshttp - https/ssh demultiplexer - How to install on Pi

Hello, Yes I got Transparent Proxying to work with SSLH and iptables are not needed at all. Instead this solution just uses the linux kernel IP routing table. By the way you don't need Transparent Proxy support at all if you think you do to make SSLH work with Fail2Ban then that is totally un-necess...

Re: sshttp - https/ssh demultiplexer - How to install on Pi

Hello! Actually I've given up on sshttp and moved on to sslh... it supports transparent proxying now as well. If you install sslh with: sudo apt-get sslh it works and it is cool how you can send web and ssh traffic through port 443 at the same time. However to get the transparent proxying working re...

Re: sshttp - https/ssh demultiplexer - How to install on Pi

Hello, I have been unable to run sshttp. It is designed to work as a transparent proxy: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/networking/tproxy.txt ... that requires two kernel modules: xt_TPROXY.ko and nf_tproxy_core.ko to interact with iptables to mark and re-route network packets. xt_TPROXY.ko...

OK so I updated to the latest Raspbian Kernel with # rpi-update and downloaded the source and header files for the latest Raspbian kernel with # rpi-source (from gitHub) A "Linux" directory is created in the root users HOME dir however when I go to: /linux/net/netfilter there is no nf_tproxy_core.c ...

OK I think I figured out the nf_conntrack and nf_conntrack_ipv4 modules are already installed they just needed to be loaded:
Loading nf_conntrack modules.png
Loading nf_conntrack modules.png (19.3 KiB) Viewed 1957 times

Now I need to install:
libcap
and
libcap-devel

I'm going to try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libcap2

Re: Need help with dnsmasq config

Hello, Yes... I did change the Primary (IPv4) DNS of the router to be the local IP address of the Pi that is running dnsmasq. Yes... switching off Ipv6 in the router solved the problem because then the Windows 7 "client" was not able to see the IPv6 DNS server in the router. I think it wasn't workin...

Re: Need help with dnsmasq config

Hello sora03! I have tried adding the IP address of the pi along with the domain name I'm using to /etc/hosts but that doesn't make the domain name resolve to the local IP of the pi when I try from within my LAN. If I try from outside the LAN it works fine. For this reason, and because I have read o...

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I'm struggling to understand the underlying dnsmasq concepts... how dns works. Hello rpdom, On my Raspberry Pi 3 I have a personal cloud server called NextCloudPi... https://github.com/nextcloud/nextcloudpi which runs on apache2 on Raspbian. I'd like to get wildcard SSL certs for my domain. The version I have now is: certbot 0.10.2 but apparently you need certbot version 0.22....

Re: External access to apache web server

This is a very old thread but for anyone else having this problem as SurferTim said it may be that your ISP doesn't want you doing this. My ISPs router has the screen where you can port forward but it doesn't actually port forward because the feature is actually disabled by the ISP. So what I did wa...

Re: Can't connect to Samba running on Raspbian from Windows 7 Home Premium

Hello again, So I'm learning a little more about Samba. I realise this whole mess of mine began because I started with an smb.conf file I've had since 2013 which includes the line: max protocol = SMB2 This limits the Samba server to version 2 of the protocol which does not support NTLMv2. Via much c...

Try adding 'server max protocol = NT1' to the [global] section of your smb.conf and restart Samba. I tried this... no joy! Try logging in via the "use another account" button. Judging by your screen grab, windows will be trying to login with the userid of the current windows session. If that doesn'...

What you are trying to setup is known as a standalone server, try reading this Samba wikipage: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Standalone_Server Hello! I went to that wiki and went through the instructions step by step. On my windows 7 laptop I have Ubuntu running on a virtua...

Does the user 'pi' exist on the windows pc ? with the same password ? Or are you trying to connect as a different user ? If this is the case, it isn't going to let you in because of 'valid users = pi' From 'man smb.conf' : valid users (S) This is a list of users that should be allowed to login to t...
