Re: Raspberry Pi 3 no wifi

It's not just Raspberry Pi 3, I have a Raspberry Pi Mobel B. The USB dongle that was working with it stops working after installing the new Raspbian distro. The one with the PIXEL desktop. The kernel module is said to be loaded. I have no clue what's going on. Same thing here. I'm using a Pi 1 Mode...

Re: BBS running on Raspberry Pi

Check out Wintermute BBS (telnet://wintermute.bbsindex.com), that's the one I have running since 2009. It offers fidonet and several other echomail and qwk networks. Recently I moved the system to a Pi2 and am now having the same problem regarding old dos doors. Since dosemu is no option on arm linu...

Re: Raspberry Pi clones - share your experience

The reason for this is that I'm just curious wether or not this is possible. I had a discussion about this with some of my collegues and none of us knew if this is possible, has already been done etc. - and I think there are people in this forum who not only own an original Raspberry Pi but also so...

Re: Raspberry Pi clones - share your experience

What possible reason would they have to post on here? They're not going to get any support for their clone alien hardware. That support should be given on the hardware manufacturer's website / forum. Ah, you probably misunderstood the intention regarding my original post. I'm not looking for people...

Re: Raspberry Pi clones - share your experience

All the "Clones" use a different SoC so technically they are not a "Clone" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clone_(computing) In computing, a clone is a hardware or software system that is designed to function in the same way as another system. Despite this technically correct statement, some marketin...

Raspberry Pi clones - share your experience

Every now and then, some manufacturer comes up with a new single-board computer that claims to be a Raspberry Pi clone or Raspberry Pi compatible. They all claim to be faster, offer more interfaces etc. - but if you take a closer look, most of those systems aren't really compatible. None of them wil...

Same thing here, got my LCD Touchscreen today, followed the instructions and all i get is a white screen. Checked the connections of all wires twice. It's a Raspberry Pi2 I got connected here. EDIT: nevermind. The display ribbon cable got loose both times after I fixed the controller board to the d...

I've just installed the same thing, Xymon running on a Raspberry Pi using Lighttpd. The setup works quite well, but I've noticed some effect regading the graphs for the Raspberry Pi "/" (root) filesystem. Despite several monitoring x86 based systems, I also monitor two Raspberry Pi servers. However,...

Re: Battery Power/Pack

As long as you can get a 1A current from it, almost any battery pack will do. I bought the PowerGen Duo-Power battery pack, it has 8400mAh and powered my Pi for 9 hrs. and 44 min. (headless Raspberry Pi: no monitor, keyboard, mouse attached - only a WLAN stick). The battery still powered the Pi when...

I seriously doubt you can establish a reliable link between brand name and usability on the Pi. I'm sure there are a whole bunch of other variables at work, including (but, of course, not limited to): 1) Phase of the moon (i.e., just luck) That's probably the most usual one. I have a SanDisk 4GB th...

Re: Oh boy... RISC OS on Pi!!!

Have a look here for a short introduction to the inbuilt assembler Thank you very much, this helped a lot. Just as NigelJK stated, the basic principle is the same but one must of course use at least ARMv5 assembler, better ARMv7 assembler. I found a page listing all available mnemonics for each ARM...
