Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

incredible.
i mean, incredible.
Is there any information on power consumption? (i mean, over the adaptor specs..)
how much is this little monster consuming, compared with old PIs?

Motion and PS3 Eye: resolution

Hello, i hope to be in the right section.. So, building my home assistant i got a PS3 Eye for the incredibly good microphone for the money. Now, having "for free" a cam, i tried to use it also with motion. The installation was as easy as hell, but i only get output @320x240 instead of 640x480 The mo...

Re: Starting from a blank paper. Google assistant on a PI

But still, my first problem is that i can't go farer than 1 meter from the mic, or it stops responding Look up ReSpeaker. damn, quite expensive :) Well, just for reference. A PS3 Eye has a 4 mic array it costs less than 10€ it is amazingly good value for the price my assistant is getting my command...

Re: Starting from a blank paper. Google assistant on a PI

Sounds like it's working and working well. Oh yes, i'm having much fun! yesterday i just got it to read sensor values to my MQTT broker upon request then obviously i had to implement the custom wakeword "Jarvis" But still, my first problem is that i can't go farer than 1 meter from the mic, or it s...

Re: Starting from a blank paper. Google assistant on a PI

well, i have to say this thing is amazing. Ok, you'll have to take care of the update of files (with a release a week old, i had to manually update 2 files to work with google assistant), but at the end it can do everything! And there are some things that are really "nerd" And yes, when it has to pr...

For a setup without the AIY hardware ( and even with ) I like these scripts/guide: https://github.com/shivasiddharth/GassistPi But read it and follow it carefully. thanks, i'll give it a look.. Re: Starting from a blank paper. Google assistant on a PI

Bare in mind it not quite like the Google mini's in use. oh and why not? i understood that if using a raspi >=2 also the hotword trigger could be used, so why should it be different? and sadly i'd prefer to start from a raspbian image (i don't want to let it do only the google home function :)) tha...

Starting from a blank paper. Google assistant on a PI

Hello all, well, i used to consider myself a "middle" noob, given that i was able to create a lot of things with a raspi. Then i saw the google home mini discounted for the black friday and.. well, i thought that it was time to turn one of my (n) raspis in a google home device! I found tons (i mean....

Re: Laser dust sensor

Could I ask anyone to update this thread on whether or not the code posted last is working? I'm a complete newbie with serial communication (which I find rather painful and odd to use). So I was thinking about getting data from my arduino onto my RPi, but I'd rather keep all my sensors on one board...

Re: How to highlight text on OLED 2.42 SSD1306

if you want to turn the whole display to negative, the SSD1306 chip has a specific command for that (google it) If you want to "highlight" only a portion, well as you can see from the code what is displayed is an image. so i think you have to create an image :) for example, a rectangle "white" and a...

help debugging mysql python script that hangs

Hello, i've a "curious" problem with my setup. Raspberry pi (jessie) python 3.5 a service that reads from mqtt topics and stores data on a mysql db the db is in lan, on a qnap nas Problem: it works, but after a "random" time, it simply hangs. it hangs while executing mysql commands. Pi3B+ to italy

I can remember, some months ago, when official UK sellers were denying dispatchment to italy (pimoroni and pihut). Well, i have to nicely underline that the Pi3B+ arrived me from the pi hut in less than one week, for a fully reasonable delivery fee. This is really good, even if the package is not as...

sadly i have no 3.3V power source where the sensor is located, so i can't use those cheap level shifters..
Put the level shifter at the RPi end, where you do have 3.3 volts on the GPIO header.
the sensor is connected to the PI through the hm-10 BT module (bluetooth side)
