Re: RPi (1) B 512 MB not booting anymore

Thanks for your advice. I already tried to press on the SD while plugging the Pi, but following your advice, I tried again, a little stronger, and it worked! I examined the SD and noticed a crack on the plastic casing, just where it fits the Pi's slot. I'll fix that with a little point of glue :D Hu...

RPi (1) B 512 MB not booting anymore

Hello,

I have 512 MB Model B since 03/31/2014.
Today, it has stopped working : I can't make it boot.

The ACT LED is not blinking at all (it just stay dimmed), whatever I try (with SD, without SD, with another SD, ...).
I checked the SD card on my PC and in another Pi, it is working.

Is my Pi dead?

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

I don't know if the problem is related to Linux or RPi, but it's not exclusive for Pi 2, since I had the problem with one of my B+. Since I ran fsck on the SD, the problem is gone. I installed some packages with apt-get and compiled some things and everything is fine so far. I think these particular...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

I know ^^
But the SD problem discussed here only affects the ext partition.
Therefore you can still use the SD to boot with an USB disk and repair the ext partition with fsck.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

If you don't have an USB SD Reader, you can boot your Pi from an USB storage (flash disk, HDD, ...) and run

Code: Select all

fsck -f /dev/mmcblk0p2
from there.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

Hello, I never had this problem again on my Pi 2, but one of my Pi B+ got it on first boot right after I re-imaged a 16GB EVO SD with the latest OSMC beta with Win32 Disk Imager. I took the SD and my USB reader, I plugged it on my Pi 2 and ran fsck with -f. It fixed some errors. Then I put the SD ba...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

Hello, Some news : I reimaged my µSD and the first boot was fine. I re-done the initial config with raspi-config, including resizing the partition. Then I rebooted, and the problem came back. I took out the SD and plugged it on one of my B+ Pi with and USB reader. I ran fsck, it found a lot of error...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

No, the red LED stay lit until I unplug the power.

Additionnal info : Enabling the Pi 2 overclock profile in raspi-config doesn't solve the problem.

Re: Can the RPi be kept always-on? any standby mode?

Actually, the Pis are able to do something like a standby mode, but you need an external trigger to restart it. If you shutdown your Pi with, for example, sudo poweroff , your Pi's will shut down properly and the SOC will go to sleep. In this state, you can reset your Pi by triggering the RUN pads. ...

Re: is windows currently possible?

@drgeoff Yes, it's not available yet. MS just said "soon". Of course, W10 for IoT is not the same as W10 for PC or Tablet. You will not be able to run desktop app from your PC out of the box on a Pi. AFAIK it will share kernel and some API with W10 for PC and Phones. I don't know what it means for u...

Re: is windows currently possible?

Hello, EDIT : I didn't know about ceonpi, thanks mimi123 Windows will never be [edit] officially [/edit] possible on first generation of Pis (A, B, A+, B+). However, Microsoft announced that a special Windows 10 edition for single board computers, named Windows 10 for IoT will be available for Pi 2 ...

Raspberry Pi 2 B SD card problem on boot

Hello there, I have a brand new RPi 2 B with PCB labeled v1.1. I use it with Samsung EVO 8 GB (MB-MP08D) µSD card. I have this problem only with my Pi 2 : I tried to put this SD in one of my B+, I never seen this. Most of the time, everything is fine, but some times (around one time over 6), on boot...

Re: Piracast (Miracast on Pi) Beta Release

@Henke_83 Thanks for your reply. I would like to help you but I haven't used C / C++ for ages now and I don't know anything about the internal mechanics of WPS and hostapd... However, I'll be happy to test things with Win 8, 8.1 or 10 TP. I have some devices where I can easily put Windows to test if...
