Re: DraStic DS emulator for RPi 2/3 - beta testers wanted

Right, I started playing with Retropie and as a customer of the Android Drastic, I was very happy to find Drastic available under Retropie. Everything installed great, I copied over some ROMs and they start op OK till the title screen. That is the extent of it however. My Bluetooth connected Moga He...

Thanks PhilE. I have the /etc/udev/rules.d/99-com.rules: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 506 Sep 24 2015 99-com.rules I removed the raspberrypi-sys-mods and pi-bluetooth and rebooted. Re: Looking for a video player with effects

Blender has a NLE in it. It runs on RPI 2/3 with the experimental OpenGL driver. You might give that a try. Enough tutorials on the web. Of course, the OpenGL is EXPERIMENTAL so your mileage might vary.... As other have already said, RPI offers a very basic desktop replacement. Video editing is not ...

Re: Rasbian Jessy (keyboard issue and H264 issue

Hi, Well, my thanks go to both fruitoftheloom and gkreidl. apt get dist-upgrade or the command line raspi-conf seems to have fixed my keyboard problem. As to omxplayerGUI, if I enter the full pathname /home/pi/video.h264 in the omxplayerGUI's 'command line' and then click Play/Stream, I get the vide...

Rasbian Jessy (keyboard issue and H264 issue

Hi, I seem to have two issues that I don't see mentioned anywhere. Maybe someone can shed some light? I have a Raspberry Pi 2 B with the latest Jessie Rasbian. I ran the graphical config setup (nice improvement!!) and selected my Timezone (Brussels) and keyboard (Belgian) I was prompted for a reboot...

Supported open source projects

Hi, Is there a central location (wiki or whatever) where the ongoing status of the various open source project supported by te Foundation (PyPy, Libav, Pixman, Wayland/Weston,...) is noted/ tracked? Wayland/Weston especially has been rather quiet for quite a while apart from a minimal function deskt...

Bodhi linux used to have a Pi version with Enlightenment 17. Was my favorite eyecandy distro for a while. Bodhi has moved on and droppped support for it (was before Pi2 B). However, I'm pretty sure you can find SD images if you look for them.

Re: New UI (2015-05-05) discussion thread

I love the new interface but agree with a lot of the criticism (Idle <=>Python and the current extreme sparseness especially). I see the current effort as baby steps towards a GUI implementation that 'grows' with the user (and yes, the user here is the young, new computer user, not the 'dyed-in-the-...

Re: take macro photos with the raspberry camera

Depending on how macro you want to go, a cheap and cheerfull solution might be something like http://www.easy-macro.com/ The rubber band would need some readjusting to fit the Raspberry camera module. Of course, I'm not even sure if this would work, not having the camera module myself. I just have t...

Re: Which RPi OS Do You Prefer?

Same remarks as Metatronin and Jamesh... Raspberry Pi OS is dependant on what you want to do with it. I have a Raspi with RASBMC connected to my TV as Media Center and another Raspi on which I run Raspbian (of course...) but also Bodhi (GREAT looking but a bit orphaned though...) and RiscOS. I have ...

50 seconds of buffering for 7 seconds of video

Hi, I have a Raspberry Pi with the RaspBMC distro hooked up to my living room TV. It looks gorgeous, I can register all my movies (samba shares on my PC) get the fanart, synopsis etc, but when I try to play them, buffering lasts about 45-50 seconds, then I get 5-7 seconds of vido. Everything freezes...

Re: Looking for case with SD enclosed

Another case in the works that hides the SDCard (and reroutes the power cable!) is the Short Crust. These guys failed raising enough durint a Indiegogo campaign but are still trying to get their case to market. Unfortunatly, it is as of yet, NOT yet available:

Re: Shortbread

I love this case. The power rerouting is a stroke of genius. If you want an XBMC-based media hub in the living room, this one is easily the most professional looking. Unfortunately, although the contributions are inching up (25% achieved), it starts to look like a long shot. Nevertheless, I urge eve...

Re: So stressed, Pi won't start up!

Another possibility is that somehow you broke of a very small sliver of the SD card slot. :( This is a real Achilles heel on the Pi. It is very flimsy and breaks incredibly easy. It's not all that easy to see either ( from the tone, I guess you already understood it happened to me....) Result would ...

RasPi output via Vista Media Center?

So, Raspi has got analog video output ('cable' output) so you can use it on any old TV. Right? Well, is there any way to hook it up to my TV Card (ASUSTek LNA Tiger) and see the output via Vista Media Center? I couldn't get it to work for the few times I tried...
