I just ripped the new official raspbian and performed my usual test (which used to make the pi freeze in 5mn). No fatal freeze anymore. I had massive issues with the original Debian Wheezy image. With full speed, it would crash after a few minutes. Then I tried the Raspbian image and rpi-updated. I also tried raspbian with the updated kernel (I had to force installation --force-architecture) It booted, but it still freezes with rtorrent. It is very weird, I cannot spot what exact module is responsible for the freezes... It is not the kernel or the firmware...

Hmmm I think it works because of the nas thing... The problem occurs in my case if I try to download to a usb drive. Probably because Ethernet and USB shares the same bandwidth... If it is possible, can you try downloading to a USB HDD or flash drive?

The only change I made was set the value "vm.min_free_kbytes" to 16000, following some advices that I found in this forum. Before of that I made some tests with other values (32678, 8192...), but always freeze. I´m running off a 1200mAh power supply, in case that matters... I tried it and it still ...

I had the same freezing problems with Debian; since I installed Raspbian-hexxeh the freezes are over. I am using Transmission and no crashes or freezing since last friday, and before that (when using Debian) I should reset the Pi every 15 minutes. I tried it and it freezes with rtorrent... Here http://chri.stophr.be/node/228 it says that it solves the freezing issues... I have not tried (and I am a little frustrated to try now...)
