Re: perl error

apt-get -f dist-upgrade is a very agressive way to upgrade the Pi. That looks well broke. The best way to fix this, is to start again. Configure a new SD, and use then apt-get update apt--get upgrade or better use the GUI - see preferences / add remove software. Install your apps. You can mount the ...

Re: Rear Admiral Grace Hopper awarded Medal of Freedom

I saw her give a talk in the 1977 in Thames Poly. She had drums of cable marked millisecond microsecrosecond nanosecond - showing how far a sign could go in the times marked. When she got confused about the metre system, she looked at the cables. She said when talking to men, if you misspoke, they w...

Re: Other Boards that Run Raspbian

I assume you are hearing the Power Supply and not the Pi board.I would start by borrowing a PSU and see if that fixs the issue. Note it needs to be a 2Amp PSU. A cheap phone charger may boot your PI, but will not be meaty enough and you will get strange things happening. Alternatives to the Pi, Goog...

Re: whats wrong with the VNC

I am not a cloud user myself, but I believe tunneling VNC over SSH it is a common way to talk to cloud virtual machines. The SSH client and server negociate a common security scheme from the lists they support. SSH is designed so you can easy add schemes, and either the client or the server can refu...

If you need to staying with TinyVNC, do not upgrade to the Pi to the latest PIXEL build as it not compatible.

RealVNC more of a problem

The pictures you can de-install. The other apps, you can remove. The RealVNC you can not really uninstall it. Before RealVNC, most people who ran headless used XRDP and Remmina which was compatible with Windows remote desktop and open VNC clients like tinyvnc. Even if you de-install RealVNC, XRDP no...

Re: problem with CGI script !!!

I have the same problem. The problem looks to be a bug. When you call with cgi-bin in the url, the text should by magically transformed to point to the absolute location usr/lib/cgi-in. As this script is not working you are point to a relative address of the servers root directory var/www/. Moving y...
