Re: How to signal to a running Python script

Hi, If your Python script runs as a daemon for example, you could get it to listen for HTTP requests on a port of your choosing. Then your web interface via an HTML form could send data to to the daemon via POST or GET requests. Upon receiving the requests your program could then act upon them as de...

Re: Megadrive emulation on original RPi

On the SD card front you can easily get SanDisk 16GB SD card for less than £8 on Amazon.

As it happens I bought one the other day and it works fine with the Raspberry Pi.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi,

Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit was released for the Sony PlayStation so it should work with any PlayStation emulator available for the Raspberry Pi.

Hope this helps,

Neil.

Perhaps you could post a link to a zip file or git repository etc. that contains the source code and resources so we can try out your code examples?

Did you read my suggestions above?

Re: Pygame and hybrid pinball machine

Hi, Here are my observations.... 1. In a lot of places you are testing the same variable several times, e.g. if c == 13: # do something if c == 14: # do something else It would be more efficient so say: if c == 13: # do something elif c == 14: # do something else as this will reduce the number of ti...

Re: PS4 Multiplexer

Hi, An interesting idea. To connect a Raspberry Pi to anything by USB and have it appear as a device you would need to be able to put the Raspberry Pi's USB controller into device mode rather than host mode. As I understand it, only the Raspberry Pi Zero has the ability to do this. I'm not sure if t...

Re: MAME Arcade: PC vs Raspberry Pi2

Hi, If you want the best performance, then using a PC rather than a Raspberry Pi would be the way to go. The PC does not need to be cutting edge, but a decent graphics card will help together with a reasonable amount of RAM, e.g. 4GB (depending on chosen OS). For example, my aging (10 yrs+) PC using...

Re: Retropie-not loading

Hi, From your screen shot I can see that you have mounted the partition /dev/disk2s1 from the device you are trying to write to: you cannot write an image to a device that is mounted as it is in use by the operating system. So, first unmount the device and then run the dd command: sudo umount /dev/d...

Hi,

No problem.

I should say that PES 2.0 is in the works and I hope to have a public BETA version ready soon.

I'm just addressing some issues and feature requests from an early release that some PES users tried out for me.

Watch this space ;-)

Re: Admin Password Retropie 3.6 in Raspi 3

Hi, "sudo" is just a command that lets you execute commands as the "root" user. For Linux (and other Unix based OSes), the root user is the "super user" (administrator). For more info on the sudo command type at a console: man sudo Debian based OSes like Raspbian do not by default allow the root use...
