Re: Sinatra/Thin web server no longer working

You should always bind a server to '0.0.0.0' [which is INADDR_ANY] or something won't work later and you'll forget that you've bound to a specific address and subnet. What you are saying makes sense, however, when I did that it didn't work. I had to bind it to the specific address directly. I will ...

Re: Sinatra/Thin web server no longer working

in your sinatra application, you need

Code: Select all

set :bind, 'yourIPAddressHere'
for instance, I did

Code: Select all

set :bind, '10.0.0.8'
and my sinatra app was accessible from my other box.
Cheers.

DougieLawson wrote:You need to update sinatra

It's currently got bind set to localhost.
Thank you, and you beat me to the punch. I just put
set :bind, '10.0.0.8'
in my sinatra file and it worked great.
Cheers.

Re: ssh connects fine but browser connection refused

The issue is that the server is not listening on eth0 or wlan0. It's only listening on the loopback interface. ssh connects fine but browser connection refused

I have ruby (2.0.0-p451) and sinatra (1.4.4) running (listening on 4567) on my pi and if I curl locally curl localhost:4567 I get 'hello world' as expected. If I curl from another machine on the network, I get "curl: (7) Failed connect to 10.0.0.8:4567; Connection refused" I actually have two interf...

Re: Sinatra/Thin web server no longer working

Did you get this resolved? I am about to jump into something like this and am interested if there are any significant blockers.

Re: Connecting Ethernet disconnects WiFi?

GRK: My original problem was that if I had my ethernet unplugged, suddenly there was no route to wlan0. I would get: ssh: connect to host 10.0.0.15 port 22: No route to host Then I found your post, thanks. I did not, however, need the 5 second delay. But when I set my /etc/default/ifplugd like yours...
