Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

I got the PS3 controller working by commenting out the rule that stops controllers being recognised if they have more than 6 axes. I then recompiled and I could map the PS3 controller no problem. For whatever reason, MAME4aLL-pi won't pick up my arcade controller joystick and I think it has somethin...

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

In regards to the issue above...

I got it working on PiFBA by changing the up/down and left/right axes input to 4 and 5 +/- instead of 0 and 1 +/- .

Is there anyway to make mame4all accept this input? I wish it had a text based controller input config file :(

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

Hi, I'd like to throw my joystick woes into the mix in the hope that someone has a solution for me! I've read through the thread and noticed similar but not identical issues. I've also read through proposed fixes on the Google issues thread and seen some fixes, but I'm not sure any apply directly. I...

Re: Decent guide for installing Raspian to USB using Windows

Yes I had extended the partition to fill the SD card prior to copying too, however, my SD card was only 8gb and I had 50gb of unallocated space on the HDD that I wanted to use for the Raspian rootfs (I'm running RetroPie and have a LOT of roms!). To do this I was required to expand the 8gb ext4 part...

Re: Decent guide for installing Raspian to USB using Windows

Probably worth mentioning that I had to use gParted in the end to expand the rootfs ext4 partition as I didn't seem to be able to do it with the mini tool - I'm guessing it was maybe because it's not possible to expand it when the drive is mounted? The process I went through then was: [*]Shrink back...

Re: Decent guide for installing Raspian to USB using Windows

Sorry I meant installing the root filesystem onto a USB drive and only using the SD card for the boot partition.

I have an inbuilt SD card reader/writer on the laptop.

Decent guide for installing Raspian to USB using Windows

Are there any decent guides out there that take you through the process of installing Raspian on a USB using a windows laptop?

all the guides I can find seem to be Linux based and I don't have access to a Linux machine over the weekend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Hello, me again! I've just tried the settings Welshy suggested for the separate gles2n64 plugin config. While it did stop the black flickering (as I expected it might), Mario Kart still seems a little way off being playable. Mario 64 runs quite nicely, however and it is a performance increase from r...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Hi both, I didn't have much time to tinker last night after my post, so i will take another look at this again this evening. I'll try editing the gles2n64 graphics plugin settings as per welshy's instructions. If nothing else, I'm fairly sure that those config settings will stop the epilepsy inducin...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Hi, Tried running both games from console using the sudo command and found the exact same performance results, so I don't think that booting it from ES is giving any great cause for concern. Which I guess is good news...however, that performance is still very poor - especially with Mario Kart. Then ...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Thanks for the replies chaps. I'm just trying to digest it and get my head around some of what is being said, it is still a bit of a learning curve for me and think I'm still someway off getting involved with helping out on the coding...but never say never! How would I be able to tell which video pl...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Thanks for the explanation, it is all a bit clearer now. I think I will avoid compiling from source of my own accord, as there doesn't seem to be any major benefits to it from my point of view. It is a useful distinction to have though. So I just ran an update of the setup script and updated the bin...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Well I'm back from holiday and decided to give mupen64 a go. Thanks for the advice so far, ric! So I managed to install the emulator via RetroPie by updating the RetroPie setup script and updating the binaries, so I can only assume I have the most up to date version of Mupen, or at least reasonably ...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Hi all, I'm relatively new to all of this and just need a few pointers to help me on my way please. I am currently running a few emulators relatively successfully through RetroPie with emulationstation as a front end. The main emulators I've been messing with at the moment are Megadrive (works more ...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Hi ric, thanks for the reply! I think the best place for me to start would be just by following the OP and at least getting a couple of games running in some capacity on my Pi. I guess I will ditch the idea of RetroPie integration for now and see how I go just running straight from terminal. I'm off...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Hi guys, First off, let me just share my admiration for the work going on with this project. Your commitment to this is commendable. I'm relatively new to emulation on the RPi and have only recently gotten RetroPie running on an Ultimate Raspian build using Emulationstation as a front end. It was on...
