Re: (UPDATE) Drivers for TL-WN725N V2 - 3.6.11+ -> 4.xx.xx+

The commits are from https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/commits/master . The full commits are 40 characters long but it is possible to reduce that to the first 9 or 10. The script will then read data from the hexxeh/rpi-update github to determine the kernel version that will be installed using t...

Re: TL-WN725N no joy on Buster

I've had issues using the built in 8188eu wifi driver with Buster, as others have, but the driver I compile works OK. You can download the driver from http://downloads.fars-robotics.net/wifi-drivers/8188eu-drivers/ . Download the file with the file name that matches the output from command uname -a ...

Re: Stretch won't connect to hidden SSID (I've searched high and low)

How did you create these files? Do they have cr/lf or just lf at the end of each line? I didn't create the files, I did a fresh install of stretch and I modified these two files. Can you elaborate on "Do they have cr/If or just If at the end of each line"? Linux text files, .conf. .txt etc., usuall...

Shouldn't the first line of file wpa_supplicant.conf be

Code: Select all

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev

Re: I can't get the wpa_supplicant.conf to work

Using Buster on the B+, the WiFi adapter seems to be working correctly since `iwlist` shows my WiFi network, so I assume it's something to do with wpa_supplicant. No idea what to try next though. Copy the wpa_supplicant.conf file from your Stretch card to your Buster card. If it still doesn't work,...

Re: USB Wifi driver installation Error: /lib/modules/4.14.98+/build: No such file or directory. Stop

The command lsmod shows the 8192cu driver is loaded and command ifconfig shows the wifi has a valid IP address so should be connected to your network and working.

Re: Error on sudo apt-get update

Look at the man pages for apt-get. Using "-y" just hides the issue. Do you know there are no other questions asked that you might want to answer "no" ? "--allow-releaseinfo-change" addresses this specific issue and is there to be used in this specific case. Both may work, but only one is the right ...

Re: Error on sudo apt-get update

Your problem is related to Raspian Buster having been offically released before Debian Buster. It will no doubt go away when the next Raspbian image is released in a month or two. Till then, start with sudo apt -y update Wrong solution. :x PeterO Doesn't look like it. It appears to be an alternativ...

Hi stewhar, Just tried a wifi chip, Edimax EW-7811UTC, with the same USB ID, 7392:a812, you are using on a Pi 3A+ with the same kernel version, 4.19.50-v7+ #896, you are using and using the same driver file you tried, 8812au-4.19.50-v7-1234.tar.gz, and all is working fine. MrEngman - I have encountered issues with the latest Raspbian updates and your wifi driver script. All worked fine until rip-firmware commit b39dd764176933407df48424f1d0779da05142b1.
