Re: BLISSFLIXX - new streaming media centre

OK I activated your account you should be able to post further questions on the forum.

To manually install peerflix run the following command:

Code: Select all

npm install -g peerflix

Re: BLISSFLIXX - new streaming media centre

What is your username for the forum? I will activate your account manually.

As for your torrent streaming problem - it appears you do not have peerflix installed. have you run ./configure.sh which installs all the dependancies such as this?

Re: Show YouTube Videos with some text above

>>But how can I do for showing some formatted text above the played video?

The only thing I can think of is to use omx + youtube-dl as you suggest and then generate subtitles in .srt format which omxplayer will then place over the video.

Re: [PROJECT] Cast music from youtube to your Raspberry pi

Your versions of node and npm look to be quite old. You can install newer versions like this:

Code: Select all

wget http://node-arm.herokuapp.com/node_latest_armhf.deb
sudo dpkg -i node_latest_armhf.deb
rm node_latest_armhf.deb

Re: RaspberryCast 0.1 released (Chromecast-like project)

Nice Work :D This is very similar to my own project: https://github.com/blissland/blissflixx Both projects integrate youtube-dl, torrent streaming, omxplayer and wrap it all in a easy to use interface. We're planning to make a PopcornTime-like system (entirely hosted on the Pi), but as today it is s...

Re: BLISSFLIXX - new streaming media centre

Yes. Also you'll need to install some 3rd party plugins documented here:

PS How did you get on with the install? Any issues?

Re: 1080p streaming with youtube-dl through omxplayer?

Hi Doug,

OK I have removed the -r flag from the omxplayer options (I can't remember why I put in to begin with). To update your copy of BlissFlixx simply select "RESTART & UPDATE" from the home page menu. Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: 1080p streaming with youtube-dl through omxplayer?

Hi Doug, Can you try playing a video with the following command to see if the problem occurs. omxplayer -b -r --timeout 100 -I --no-keys <filename> These are the same flags as BlissFlixx uses to play videos. If you do see the problem can you also try running without the '-b' flag to see if there is ...

Re: 1080p streaming with youtube-dl through omxplayer?

Hi Doug, A couple of problems I've come up against, though: After completing one programme on iPlayer, the screen is blanked out, and no video is displayed for any other programmes or videos, either played via to r server or directly with omxplayer: Are you running the raspi GUI? If you are then try...

Hi pipuppy, I downloaded and installed BlissFlixx earlier this afternoon. Wow! It works a treat and I am simply "blown away" by its performance. I thought OpenElec was ok but BlissFlixx is so much better IMHO. Thanks! I am glad you managed to get it working. You are officially the first BlissFlixx u...

Re: 1080p streaming with youtube-dl through omxplayer?

Good idea to use the tail command to write to a pipe and then be able to use keyboard input. Up to now I have been using dbus to control the player. I'm working on a media player driven by a web interface, which I drive via e.g. smartphone. Same here ! If you're interested you can try out my system ...

Re: 1080p streaming with youtube-dl through omxplayer?

Hi Doug, The following script should work: #/bin/sh out=`tempfile` rm $out get_iplayer --stream $1 > $out & sleep 10 tail -f --bytes=+0 $out | omxplayer --no-keys pipe:0 rm $out I have been spending the last 6 months developing a new media centre for the Pi and I have found that the most reliable wa...
