Re: Scratch 3

Brand new RPi 3b+
New install of Noobs - updated and upgraded.
Try Scratch 3.0 - CPU maxes out and stage never appears. Basically no use.

Is this a problem using Chromium? Any other browser proving successful? This is a serious setback when trying to make life easy for young/new users.

Re: Remote access to Raspberry Pi

Thanks for the replies. Pointing me to SSH was all I needed to get moving again!

Remote access to Raspberry Pi

Hi.
I've seen a couple of YouTube projects where the raspberry pi is embedded into a robot. The Pi is run by batteries. The code is clearly being uploaded to the Pi via WiFi.

Can anybody point me to a resource to show me how the remote access is achieved?

TIA

Re: Inconsistent partial boot

Bought it from RS when I ordered the Pi. Cost a fiver.
Outputs 5v at 1200 mA

I looked at my kindle and other adapters and they are only putting out .8 A

Re: Inconsistent partial boot

No. I got mine last week. Had it running for hours. Left it idling for 6 hours. I locked it up once clicking on something I shouldn't have.

I pushed it hard running the CPU at close to 100% for over an hour and it was warm but nothing scary.

Sounds like you may have a power supply problem.

Re: Another 512mb no-show problem

I'm no expert, got my Pi on Friday and spotted I had the same problem. Searched and found this thread that gave me a few clues and a bit of reading around to get clues about the startup configuration menu that you only see once. In the startup configuration the most important option to choose is the...

Re: Another 512mb no-show problem

My newly fixed Rev2 board has a config.txt file that looks almost identical to yours # uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode #hdmi_safe=1 # uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible # and your display can output without overscan #disable_o...

Re: Another 512mb no-show problem (solved)

Just to be clear. I didn't change the thread title. I just added to it as I seemed to have an identical problem. I hoped adding my data would help narrow down the problem. Luckily the advice here worked for me. It seems that performing a sudo shutdown -h 0 each time, particularly after any changes, ...

Re: Another 512mb no-show problem

Thanks for the reply Dweeber. Yes, I had expanded the root to full size of card. (One of the many things that would have been good to put on a hints sheet for us newbies, like how to run the options menu a second time if you missed it the first time) Anyhow, I ran apt-get upgrade a second time, load...

Re: Another 512mb no-show problem

Similar problem, using Raspian that was pre-loaded on SD card bought from RS.

apt-get update works, but nno difference
apt-get upgrade downloaded loads of files then reported a failure at the end and aboterted.
