Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

The script I wrote sshs into the motionpi machine executes the v4l2-ctl commands and restarts motion. You have to install sshpass on the server in order to be able to automatically ssh into another machine from a script. Just google sshpass for the commands needed. Works like a charm. thanks, appre...

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Yes, that's what I thought. I own a few of these PI Noir cameras and they are sensible to IR light indeed. But without a proper source of IR light I don't see how one would make them "see" at night. Moreover, I found no online reference regarding anything like "night setting" or "night mode" for th...

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=63276&hilit=port+rpi+cam+web+interface with this one I can select "Night" and then the camera without IR picks up all sensitive light. Its actually very good quality. I usually leave it on this setting all the time as I don't need colour definit...

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

The the NoIR camera (no IR filter) when you set it to night mode, and use an IR light you can see through the darkness. Its very cool and well for security perfect. The Motionpie software is the best however I cannot find the "night setting".

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Got the following advise for switching of the camera Led after installation. I guess it could be helpful for other user as well. Login to the PI remotely (using ssh or putty) and run the following commands: 1) "mount -o remount,rw /boot" (will make your boot partition read-write) 2) "nano /boot/con...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Apologies for the possibly stupid question, but I can't get the rotation on the web page to work, whatever rotation value I set doesn't seem to make a difference. Any pointers as to what I could be doing wrong? Try a different web browser...firefox works... mobile browsers on tablets and phones don...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Dear jussi24, You can change the picture size in following places and see what happens: 1. (sudo nano) RPI_Cam_Browser_Control_Installer.sh 2. (sudo nano) /etc/rc.local 3. (sudo nano) /var/www/index.html - limit width and height for browser like: <img id="mjpeg_dest" width="960" height="540"> If Yo...
